About Turkey's Public Holiday Calendar
Turkey's public holiday calendar mixes fixed-date secular/national holidays (New Year's Day, April 23, May 1, May 19, July 15, August 30, October 29) with two religious holidays, Ramadan Feast and Sacrifice Feast, that shift roughly 11 days earlier each year under the Islamic lunar calendar.
The Sacrifice Feast lasts four days and the Ramadan Feast three, and since the eve of each is treated as a half working day for most employers, a holiday landing mid-week effectively extends into a longer break via bridge-day practice.
